January 2015 Favourites
Wednesday, 21 January 2015 | 0 comments

Hi cuties,

I've never done one of these kinds of posts before but I wanted to show you a couple of items I've been loving for the past month.  I don't think I'll make this a monthly thing because I don't buy new products too often, but maybe I'll try and showcase an item or two whenever I find ones that I really like!  So here's what I've been loving so far.

Skin79 Super Plus BB Cream (purple)
I've used almost all the Skin79 BB Creams; pink, gold, orange, green (tested), and now purple!  I have to say the purple version is by far my favourite one.  I use to really love the gold one because it was for dry skin and also has that grey tone (which I actually like because I'm cool toned!) but the purple is like the gold version but on crack; it's so much more moisturizing!

Tangle Teezer
This thing has been around for a while and I remember everyone raving about it.  I never use to comb my hair until I started bleaching my hair.  Now I get tangles all the time and this literally saved my life.  Not only does it get all the tangles out, I can use this on my wet hair which makes drying my hair so much faster without my hair looking poofy after a blow dry.

The Face Shop Mango Seed Silk Moisturizing Facial Butter
Anyone with dry skin will love this product.  It's a heavy duty facial butter that seriously keeps your skin moisturized for hours and hours.  It's recommended to be used as a night cream but if you're like me with extremely dry skin, a thin layer of this under your foundation will keep your skin from drying out throughout the day.

Z.One Concept Milk_Shake Leave In Conditioner
My hairstylist friend Mike introduced me to this product.  He always uses it in my hair after he washes it and it makes my hair much more manageable especially after all I've done to my hair.  I use it daily and douse my hair with it.  I even bought a second bottle!  The best part is that it smells like cupcakes!

Tony Moly Pocket Bunny Moist Mist
I've had this product for a long time now and I recently rediscovered it.  I love spraying this on my face before applying bb cream and it gives me such a dewy finish.  It's good to spray on top of your makeup to set it and throughout the day to freshen your face when it's feeling dry.

Carmex Original Moisturizing Lip Balm (tube)
This stuff is heaven sent.  I have extremely dry and flaky lips and this stuff has healed my lips up really good.  I especially like the tubed version.  I think it's extra strength because the instructions on the back says not to use it more than 3-4 times a day.  I use this in the morning right before applying makeup and at night right after I shower/before bed.

Innisfree Water Glow Cushion
I just did a review on this product so you guys all know how much I love this thing.  I've been using it every day since I got it and it has kept my skin moisturized without looking cakey and gives my skin a brightening glow.  Big plus for being super convenient for travel and fast application.

So there are all my favourites for the month of January.  I've recently bought some new products that I love but that will have to be saved for another post for a later time!  Tried any of these products?  Love something else?  Let me know!

Tonymoly Cat Chu Wink Tony Tint Cherry Pink
Thursday, 27 June 2013 | 0 comments
Time for another Tonymoly product :D  They have such cute packaging hehe.  This is their Cat Chu Wink Tony Tiny in Cherry Pink.

It has really cute cat packaging like the rest of the Cat Wink line.  The tint looks dark red in the container and it's a very thin liquid consistency.  The applicator is a flat but reminds me of those doe-foot lipgloss applicators because of the texture.

This is what it looks like after blotted off my skin with a tissue.  It leaves a light pink tint that stays on for a really long time.

No tint.

Inner lip tinted.

Entire lip tinted.

I've noticed that this tint stays on my bottom lip really well, but for some reason, it has a hard time tinting my top lip.  I'm not sure if it's because of the different texture of the skin or what not, but I exfoliated before hand so it's fresh new skin.

After about an hour or two of wear, the tint on my top lip becomes noticeably worn away.  My bottom lip has no issues though.  It's quite annoying that this happens, so I avoid putting it on my top lip and tend to stick with tinting my inner lips when I use this product.

 Rating: ★★☆☆☆  2/5

Overall, I don't think this is an amazing product.  I've tried many other lip tints that has stayed on better.  I love the packaging, but that's pretty much all that's going for this product.  It does give a vibrant colour, but the colour is not what you'd expect when you look at the bottle.  I thought it would be darker than it really is!  It's not hydrating at all, so people that have easily dry and chapped lips wouldn't like it, like me.  A plus is that I've never had any problems with any bleeding colour, so you can make pretty precise application.

Lip tints are my preferred coloured lip product because it doesn't transfer and you can layer lip balm on top :D  It's totally boyfriend approved!  Too bad this one wasn't anything special for me :(

Tonymoly Cats Wink Smooth Primer Review
Tuesday, 30 April 2013 | 0 comments
Here's my first review of the huge Korean haul I recently got!  I got two primers to review, and this is the first out of the two.  It's the Tonymoly Cats Wink Smooth Primer.

This product smoothes (with the e) pores and uneven skin textures, making the skin appear younger and smoother.
When I first squeezed this product out of the tube, it came out like an orange-salmon colour, but when blended, it's invisible.  Once applied to the skin, the area becomes very smooth and soft.  There's no particular scent to it, so it's less likely to irritate the skin.  I have quite dry and sensitive skin and it hasn't given me much of a problem.  It does smooth out your skin for a well prepared canvas for your foundation or in my case, BB cream.

The packaging is really cute, as it is part of their Cat line.  I've noticed many different products from Tonymoly with cat themed packaging which I'm sure lures in the costumers hehe.  In one tube, you get 25ml of product which is a decent amount in my opinion.  If you are only using it for your nose area (where most people have larger pores anyway), then I think this will last you for a couple of months.  If it's for your whole face, you'll probably go through it rather quickly.  But like my eyeshadow primer, I only use a little at a time.

Here you can see the difference between with and without primer.  I used a tiny amount of my Skin79 Vital Orange BB cream as a tester for this primer.  You can see that without the primer, the lines on my skin are far for visible than the side with the primer.  Also, it seems like there's more coverage when the primer is being used because my veins are less noticeable.

Rating: ★★★☆☆  3/5

Overall, I think this primer does it's job, but it's not perfect.  When I use it, it doesn't make my face look completely poreless but it does help.  I'll continue to use this primer and see if my thoughts on it change over time.
