Recent Purchases 3
Hey cutie,
School has been bombarding me with work so I haven't found time to get around to writing this post but I am today! I just wanted to haul my "recent" purchases. I bought these about a month ago and have had a fair amount of time to test each product out.
L'oreal Infallible Pro-Last Lipcolor in Neverending Nutmeg
I was anticipating getting this specific colour because many people claim it as a "dupe" for Limecrime's Cashmere. If you look at swatches, they're not exactly dupes, but it's close enough that it made me excited. The colour itself looks great on my lips; the cool-toned taupeness of it is right up my ally, however I really do not enjoy this formula. It's one of those "2-step" lip lacquer lipcolours where you apply the colour first, wait for it to dry, and then apply a gloss on top to get rid of the tackiness. It's similar to the Rimmel Provocalips however I find the L'oreal one flakes super easily and settles into fine lines. After drinking with it on, the colour on the inner portion of my lips started to peel off in chunks and it's not cute. So much for long lasting.
Sephora Collection Colorful Face Powder in Tranquil
I'm always on a hunt for a good cool toned contour powder and I think I've hit the jackpot. Sephora came out for a whole blush collection that includes highlight and contour shades. Tranquil is a straight up grey-taupe cool toned contour shade that's perfect for pale-light skin. It's not too crazy pigmented that it'll make you look like you over-did your contour, but it's also not too sheer where it's not buildable. I especially love it for a natural nose contour.
Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blush in Plum Wine
I've been avoiding this bandwagon for quite some time but when I found myself in search for a drugstore cream blush, I kicked myself in the butt and bought this. The 'bouncy' concept to me is still a little useless/I don't really get it, but the product actually works really well. Since it's such a dark colour, it's super pigmented and I only need a tiny amount to give myself a nice flush on my cheeks. I love that you can use this with both your fingers and a brush, making it ideal for traveling if you don't want to carry too many brushes around.
Real Techniques Stippling Brush
What can I say? Real Techniques just has great brushes. I was lucky enough to snag this stippling brush (they are always sold out!). I use it to apply my foundations; it's great to have multiple brushes just so you don't have to keep washing the same one every single day.
MAC Velvet Teddy Lipstick
I finally found my MLBB! This colour matches my lips so well and it's matte. I tell you enough how much I love this lipstick. It's my every day to-go lip colour.
MAC Nylon and Omega Eyeshadow
I was looking to get Nylon for an inner corner highlight for a while now and got suckered into getting Omega as well. Omega is a good cool toned transition shade for your crease and I find myself using it every time I do my eyeshadow.

Doctor Martens, Garage, Misc. Haul
I went to the mall and did some damage. Opps. So every year I'm given money to buy new shoes and this year, Dad and I have been talking about getting me some Dr.Martens. He has a pair and I've been mentioning to him that I've wanted them too. We hit up the mall and bought them right after I tried them on. They're still pretty stiff and I need to break them in but that's okay. I'm usually a size 5-5.5 but the smallest size they carried was a 6. Surprisingly, these fit well and I have a feeling a size down wouldn't have even fit. Do Docs usually run smaller than most shoes? Anyway, I'm trying to break them in with thick socks now but I'm sure it'll take a long while to accomplish.
I'm a proud owner of my own Docs now :) They're quite fun to wear and they do give me a little extra boost of height which is always good in my books. I've even gotten compliments on them already!
I had some money left over to I went and bought a few clothing items from Garage, which if you couldn't tell already, is one of my favourite clothing stores. But first, I picked up a new eyebrow pencil because I ran out of my last one. I wanted to get the same one again but they were sold out and I needed a new one ASAP. I settled for the pencil one
(the other is retractable with a brush on the end). Although I got them in the same brown-grey colour, this one seems to be more brown than my old one. I don't mind it as much because of my blonde hair now, but it's annoying that the colours don't match like they should.
So I went to Garage and picked up a new phone case first. I saw it on their online store first and I knew I had to get it because DUH, IT HAS A LION ON IT! I'm liking it a lot, but the only annoying thing about it is that it creates a gap between my charger and the phone so now it easily disconnects if I plug it to charge but accidentally move the cord. The simple solution is to just take it out of the case when you're charging it but that's still annoying.

So Garage was having a buy 1 get 1 half off on all denim shorts, so I picked up two. I already own a pair of Garage shorts and they easily became my favourite pair of shorts because of how they fit. The main reason I love Garage is because their sizes run small so stuff actually fit me! Pants and shorts are one of my most difficult items to find that fit because my waist and hips are just non-existent. I wear a size 00 in Garage pants/shorts and they fit so well. I picked up a high-waisted black pair and a low-raised "flirty" pair. Both pairs will be thoroughly loved and worn lots during summer this year.

I also picked up two graphic tops because they were having a buy 1 get 1 free sale. There were a couple that I was looking at for a while and thought I should just pick them up since I wanted them so bad. I wish they had the sale on the crop top versions of these but I couldn't find them in the store so I settled for the regular version. Oh well, tops can always be tied into a crop top.
(I like this one because of the cut out in the back. It looks really nice with a bandeau and it'll be especially great for the hot humid days when you just need as little clothing on you as possible).
I also went to the drugstore and picked up a new lipstick and mascara. I wanted to try something new other than my usual Falsies mascara, so I picked this one up. Quick review, it has some weird strong perfume smell to it that I really don't like, and It doesn't really give as much volume as it says it should. Would not recommend.
Lastly, I picked up these bad boys just yesterday. I saw the bracelets and I knew I had to get them because I can't pass up anything related to The Lion King. Plus it has that boho feel which I loveeeeeeee. The store was having a buy 1 get another half off the entire store so I searched the whole store for something else I wanted that wasn't more expensive than the bracelets. That was quite hard because I wanted to get one of their Disney shirts but they were too expensive. I found these ear cuffs and got those because they were cute and in the right price range. I'm happy I found these because they look great on my ears!
Anyway that's all I really want to haul haha. I'm super happy about all my purchases and I can't wait until the weather gets hot so I can wear them all.

Mars Is In Retrograde
Hi you,
So it's been a while since I did any sort of posting on this blog, mainly because I've been so caught up with all my school work and projects. I just finished two projects and two essays, which wasn't very fun to do. Okay, maybe the two projects were kinda fun. A little.
What have you all been up to lately? For me, I've been really diving into astronomy. I've always been into horoscopes and what not for many many years, but it wasn't until lately that I've really started to learn in depth about it and looked at my birth chart for the first time. I guess it has become a hobby for me, since everyone in my personal life has been telling me to find a hobby to distract me from my heart. It hasn't helped in that way, but I do enjoy astronomy, so I'm gonna continue to learn about it more. If anyone knows any good videos, books, or sites that I can learn more, please do leave a comment! And if anyone is curious, I'm a sun sign Aquarius (Capricorn-Aquarius Cusp) with a Gemini moon sign, Aries rising, Capricorn midheaven and Cancer IC. What a combo, huh? If you know yours, tell me!
I've also been picking up my tarot cards again. I do this on and off a lot because I never find the time to actually sit down and learn about it. I can do "movie spreads", if that means anything to anyone, but I'm no where advanced enough to even consider doing readings for real. I do them by myself or for a friend sometimes but I always tell my friends not to take it too seriously because I hardly know what I'm doing or saying right now. Between the two, I'm definitely more into learning about astronomy than my tarot cards right now, but I really hope I can accomplish both in the future. People never expect someone like me to be into these kinds of things but I think it's pretty fun. Of course, I don't often tell people because I run the risk of people looking at me like I'm crazy or worship the devil or some silly thing like that. I don't. Well... maybe. :)
These are some of my favourite cards so far. Other favourites of mine are definitely The Lovers and The Devil.
Along those lines and to explain my title, yes, Mars is in retrograde. We've managed to move out of Mercury's retrograde but now it's Mars' turn and it's fucking up allllll ya'll relationships. Or so I've been told. So if you're suddenly feeling like you want or need to fix a relationship you have with someone
(parents, friends, coworkers, etc), do it carefully and try not to put blame on one another; just focus on rekindling that relationship because Mars is all ready to fuck up all your shits if you're not careful. As for me, I'm sure you can guess which relationship and with whom I want to fix but I really don't think I should listen to Mars and take any action :\ I'm sure he wouldn't want to either so I'm not even gonna try and bother. It's just going to make things worse than they already are.
Over the weekend, I went to dinner with my cousin, her boyfriend, and their friend Jay for her early birthday celebration. We had sushi and it was delicious. Sushi is always good, isn't it? They're all older than me; 25, 33, 32 respectively, so conversations with them are always interesting and different from the ones I have with my friends. It's weird how different but still similar everyone can be when it comes down to it. 30 is really the new 20.
Here's what a bought at Walmart the other day. These were all things I needed to pick up again because I've run out of them. I saw the Herbal Essence Naked dry shampoo and wanted to give it a try. A quick review: I love it! It does NOT leave a white powdery coat on your hair that most dry shampoos give you, and it does a good job taking away the oil in your hair.
Another product I want to mention are the Neutrogena makeup remover wipes, the hydrating ones. I've tried the regular ones in the blue packaging, but these ones are WAY better! Not only is it more hydrating, but I feel like the formula is stronger than the original ones. It takes away all my makeup without any problem. I've heard a lot of hype towards Neutrogena makeup wipes but I've never found ones that worked well for me and for the longest time, I thought everyone was just over-hyping it. But the hydrating ones are definitely the best ones I've found so far!
Today I picked up the new Cosmo and cuticle remover. I'm slowly getting more and more into doing my nails so it's about time that I picked this up. I also started using one of those buffing blocks, and oh my god, it has changed my life forever! 10/10 would recommend if you're a nail junkie. Even if you're not, using the buffer block to buff and shine your nails is amazing for when you don't want to paint your nails.
Needless to say, this week has been filled with coffee. I don't know when I stopped drinking coffee but since picking it up again, I can't believe I ever stopped. I remember drinking so much to the point that it didn't have any affect on me, which is why I probably stopped. I've always been a coffee addict, though.
Anyway, here's a bunch of other stuff that I did depicted in pictures :D
As for my belly button piercing, it's healing very well and there are no signs of infections. I plan on making a post all about my piercing and how to take care of it, etc. If you have any specific questions about navel piercings, let me know in the comments so I'll know to address it in that post!
I think it's time for me to take a shower and possibly make some food while I indulge myself in some mindless movies or something relaxing like that. Leave a comment if anything interested you because I want to start talking to some of my readers! I, myself, am often a silent reader but let's change it up :)
xoxo.

Winter break is so close but so far
The last day of class was last Friday for me. I only have one exam to do and that is on the coming Wednesday. I should be studying at the moment, but you know me ^^;; I was cleaning my room instead of studying as a form of procrastination. Does anyone else do that?
Anyway, on Friday, a couple of my friends and I went to eat pho after class. We ended super early, which was pretty lame because class starts at 8:30am
(I have to wake up at 5:30 to catch the bus!) and we ended at 10, when we usually end at 12:30. It would've been better if we just started later... But anyway, I was told the pho place was pretty close BUT IT WAS THE LONGEST WALK EVER. I don't even think the pho was worth it after all that work. But we eventually made it and ate together.
On the way home, I stopped by the mall and went into The Face Shop to pick up a new base coat because I ran out, and I wanted to treat myself to a new nail polish as well. They're really cheap and only cost $4 each. Some even are $2, but I didn't like the colour selection of that line. I chose a black duo chrome nail polish that has flecks of green and purple. I was really excited to use it because it looked so pretty in the bottle. But to my disappointment, the duo chrome doesn't translate that well onto the nail... It looks super pretty in the bottle, but it's hard to tell it's even a duo chrome on the nails. I'm not quite sure why this is.
I went to the drugstore and picked up a Carmex. Everyone has been hyping about this so I wanted to try it out. I have really dry and chapped lips that peel all the damn time, so finding a really good lip balm to help with that is really challenging. I use to use Nivea and EOS because everyone was raving about those, but after a while, I found that they made it even worse for me; especially the EOS ones. I wanted to love them, and I bought tons and tons over and over again. They worked for me at first, which is why I kept buying them. But after a while, they quickly started becoming a problem instead of a solution for me. I noticed that the moisture didn't sink into my lips and it just created a film that sat on top of my lips. I would have to apply every 20 minutes because my lips would dry out, which is why I went through so many so fast. I quickly switched to Blistex, the medicated kind, which really helped but the smell was really off putting. I pushed that aside though, because I rather something work than have it smell good but be completely useless. Everyone kept recommending me Carmex, so I thought I would try it out. I've been using it for 2 days now and I'd say it does hydrate my lips really well, but the warning on the back that says "only use this no more than 3 to 4 times a day" really freaks me out. I'm not sure if they will work out for me because every time I wipe my lips after a meal or whatever, my lips become dry again and I would need to reapply. Wouldn't this mean I would need to reapply more than 4 times a day?! WHAT DO I DO???

I saw this Raspberry Ginger Ale in the super market and I had to get it because RASPBERRY! I love anything raspberry flavoured. The drink is okay. I do enjoy ginger ale from time to time so this was nice.
It's getting quite cold now, here in Canada. I woke up today and saw more snow on the ground. I'm not a winter person, so I dread it when it keeps getting colder and colder. Winter just began and I'm already ready for summer to happen again. Sometimes I wish I lived in L.A. for that warm weather all year 'round. I ate Korean food to keep warm the other day.
I was a fawn the other day! I really wanted to play around with makeup because I haven't been able to due to school and projects :(
Picture dump, of course :)

Oh no, is it really December tomorrow?
Hello, cuties~
The last time I did an update on my life was near the beginning of this month, and now it's the last day of November. Can you believe it? I'm a little glad because that means I have only one more week of class
(but really, I'm only going to class on Thursday and Friday, hehe ;), and then one exam on the 11th AND THEN I'M DONE!!! I'm so excited for the winter break to start already. I can finally catch up on sleeping and preparing lots of blog content like reviews and what not. It's gonna be awesome.
So, a couple of weeks ago, I went to Forever 21 with the intentions of picking up some tights since winter is already happening in Toronto, but I totally came out with more than just that. I also got knee-high socks, and some earrings. I got a lightning bolt chain earring set, a black cross set, and a set of bat earrings that were from the Japan Forever 21! It says on the packaging that it's from their Japan location, which I thought was pretty cool. It seems they're stuff are so much cuter over there, huh?
Then on the weekend, Charming came home and we spent a whole day together~ We went to the mall and I managed to finally get my hands on NYX's blush in Taupe. I've been searching high and low for this blush because I heard it's the perfect contour shade. I usually contour with a bronzer but I really don't like how warm/orange it was. This is a cooler taupe colour that is much better for contouring. And guess what? I LOVE IT! There aren't many places here that sell NYX, actually. We do carry them in Rexall, which is a
(less popular) drug store, but there aren't many around me so it's not as easy for me to access them. Even when I went to visit Charming in London, I popped by their Target and Rexall, and none of them carried this colour! In fact, the Target didn't even carry any of the NYX blushes, which was very disappointing. I managed to pick this one up at Phoenix, in Pacific Mall, for $11.29 with tax.
We went to Hollywood Cafe to eat that day, and I ordered the Curry rice. It's one of my favourite things to eat and it was super yummy. Charming had a pork chop rice, which was also really good.
It was the last day for the Starbucks buy one get another free, so we
took advantage of that and ordered two peppermint mochas. It's our
favourite winter drink. What's your favourite? I would like to try
their gingerbread latte, because that sounds really delicious too. I'm
very boring and just stick to my favourites all the time, but I think
the next time, I will try something new!
The following day, I went out to eat ramen with my family. I got the miso pork ramen. I love this place because their broth is just so tasty :) They also have Japanese curry, which I love as well, but I was feeling like a nice bowl of ramen that day.
Recently, I went to The Face Shop to pick up new skincare products because the ones I've been using is already expired now :( I've been using it for a good 2 years, and I've only got 1/4 left. You'd expect me to have used it all up by now, since it's been 2 years, but to be honest, I've been very lazy with my skincare lately. I use to do the full routine, but halfway through 2013, I've been just slapping on baby cream all over my face day and night and calling it good. I know it's not really a good excuse, but since it was the summer time, I didn't feel like my skin needed so many products. Also, I was really lazy and when school started, I was extremely busy.
However, since it's winter once again, I went out to get brand new skincare products to get me back into the system. And I must say, what a difference! I can't believe I ever stopped. I picked up their Mango Seed line, which I fell in love with since I tried their sample version.
(I just did a review on it, but I will have a more in-depth review again after using it for a little longer!) At first, I got the lotion and facial butter because they were having a buy one get the second 50% on skincare products only, and I also wasn't sure if I needed the toner since I've always felt like toners weren't really for me. But soon, I realize that the toner made a huge difference, so I went back to get it. This time, they had the same sale but on any item in the store, so I also picked up their gel eyeliner pencil since my eyeliner was running low. And of course, they gave me some free samples to try it, so watch out for all these reviews coming in the future!
And here are some pictures that have accumulated throughout the past couple of weeks.
(Asian KFC looool)
Just a reminder that comments are now enabled and working, although it is a pop-up window. So feel free to leave me a comment there! I'll still keep my tagboard up. Also, I do have a bunch of reviews lined up already written and ready to be published so I'll be putting those up periodically, just so my blog doesn't become so dead when I get super busy.
Have an amazing week, everybody! I hope all you Americans had a wonderful Thanksgiving, if you celebrate it, and that everyone got lots of cool items on Black Friday :)
