Etude House Precious Mineral Any Cushion Review
Hey cutie!
So I'm back a year later with another cushion review. This time, I'll be talking about Etude House's Precious Mineral Any Cushion. I had two refills of this, and I'm just finishing my last one so I think I have a good idea of what I want to say in this review.
First, I want to say that the packaging is much bulkier in comparison to my Innisfree Water Glow Cushion. If I can remember correctly, I've been told that Etude House cushions fit into other brands under Amore Pacfic such as IOPE, Hera, and so on. Innisfree however, does not, and their sizes are different than other cushions. If I had to choose, I do prefer the Innisfree compact better because it's a little slimmer and it's flat top allows you to stack it with other products with ease. Etude House has a curved top which makes it impractical to store sometimes.
Second, let's compare the sponge. I think the key to a good cushion is not only the formula but also the sponge. Etude House's sponge is very airy and has a bit of a thickness to it which is ideal for cushions. Innisfree's sponge is slightly less thick, but both sponge's texture are similar. For this reason, I'll say Etude House wins this portion.
I got this cushion in the shade W24 Honey Beige which is their darkest shade but I find it is super warm against my skin. You can clearly see the difference in colour from the picture. The texture of this cushion is a little thicker than the Innisfree Water Glow. If you're tried the Precious Mineral BB Cream, it's the same product, just in a cushion form. For both the BB cream and cushion version, I found it is heavier and a little cakey on my dry skin. It has never been my favourite formula.

The coverage of the cushion is about a light-medium to buildable medium in my opinion. It evened out my skin tone and reduced the redness of my cheeks and also brightened my face despite the yellowness of it. There is a slight perfume scent to it but it does not last on the face. I'd say this lasts about 4 hours into the day but anything after that will soon start to fade. The issue I have with this cushion is how cakey it tends to make my face look up close and it sometimes creases in my worry lines
(I don't set my cushions with powder). For this reason, I try to apply a thin layer upon application.
Overall, this is not my favourite cushion although I know a lot of people do enjoy it. I much prefer my Innisfree Water Glow but this is a "slightly"
(not by much) cheaper alternative. If you have oily to combination skin, maybe this will work out much better for you.

Recent Purchases 2
Hey there!
Summer is halfway over and here are a few things I've purchased in the last couple of months. I like doing these kind of posts because I can talk about the products really briefly like a mini review, but if you want a full in depth review of any items, just let me know!
The first two things are the necklaces I've bought. I mentioned it in my previous recent purchases and I've been wearing it non-stop. The other necklace I got is a Lion King one that has the Simba symbol! I really want to get a tattoo of that in the future. It was luck that I stumbled upon that necklace but I knew I had to buy it.
Next I have the Etude House Precious Mineral Any Cushion. My parents brought this back for me from Asia. I really like cushion foundations because they're so easy to carry on the go. I'm not sure if this formula is for oily skin but it looks a little cakey on my dry skin, but it has good coverage. I just make sure to use a super light layer of this.
The thing I'm most excited about is The Balm's Mary-Lou Manizer. If you know me, you'd know that I love to highlight and contour; emphasis on the highlight. I love to glow! I know I purchased MAC's Lightscapade a while back (which I still love very very much) but sometimes a girl just needs a bitch'in highlight. Lightscapade is more of a "glow from within" and Mary-Lou is like BAM. I love both and I'll use one or both depending on how glowy I want to look that day.
My friend was nice enough to gift me a 3CE lip lacquer in Hawaiian Pink. She thought it was look good on me with my cool toned skin more than her neutral one. I have to say that it's not a colour I think looks super good on me at first glance but once I've had it on for a while, I get a little more use to seeing bright pink lips on me.
Lastly I was really excited to see that my Walmart finally started selling Milani! I know it's a pretty common brand in the states but we never use to carry Milani here in Canada (or at least my area) until now. I picked up their matte lipstick in Sangria which is a dupe for MAC's Rebel! I'm really happy I own this colour and didn't have to shed $21 on a lipstick.
That's all for now! I'm planning to get The Balm's Bahama Mama soon because I'm running out of my NYX blush in Taupe and it's next to impossible to get over here! I'll be sure to talk about it in my next recent purchases post if I end up getting it!

Etude House Dear My Blooming Eyes (OR203 Mesmerizing Orange) Review
*I wrote this a while ago when him and I were still together so excuse me for mentioning him so often throughout this post.
Heya, cuties!
So back during the summer time, my
boyfriend Charming went over to Asia and he brought me back a couple of Etude House items, this one being one of them! He said the sales lady over there suggested this and it was the
"best selling product" at the time. It's the
Etude House Dear My Blooming Eyes in OR203 Mesmerizing Orange palette.
Don't you just find Etude House packaging so cute? I know it looks girly and all, but come on, it's just so adorable! Asian products always has the best packaging design. The back as a diagram on how to use this palette, blah blah blah. I never follow those things anyway.
Inside, there are four colours. A light brown, white, red-ish pink, and orange. I was most excited for the orange colour because it was the summer time and I've never owned an orange eyeshadow before.
(I was really into the orange lip trend at the time, so orange eyeshadow was the cherry on top). There are two sponge applicators, and a mirror.
So let's talk about the texture of these first. I've seen other reviews on this product and most people describe them as "soft and silky" which I would agree, they are. However, if you're expect highly pigmented, buttery, matte colours, you'll be thoroughly disappointed, just as I am.
(I feel extra horrible because it's a gift from Charming ;-; I blame the sales person lady!)
Going into these colours, I saw that they are loaded with shimmer and glitter. I guess that's a thing over in Asia, but personally, I like more matte and satin finishes. However, that didn't discourage me from trying the orange and pink colour, which were the ones I was most curious about.
Pink: It's a red-pinky colour, one that I don't already own. I thought I could use this colour to do really cool looks with, but I was disappointed when I applied it on my eyes. In the pan, it looks so pretty and nice, but the colour hardly shows on your lid. I used a primer and everything! You really have to pack the colour on to get some what of a colour to show, and it's again, loaded with glitter so beware of fall out.
Orange: Here it was, the colour I've been looking forward to the most. Swatching it on my finger, it didn't seem too bad. After swatching the others, I couldn't expect much from it anyway. This colour is the least shimmery, and had the most colour payoff. But keep in mind, that doesn't mean it's anywhere near highly pigmented; it just means it's better than the other three. I managed to apply the shadow on my eye with a primer and got some colour out of it. I guess the lack of pigmentation kind of works for this shadow because I wouldn't want a stark orange on my eye, anyway. It allows you to make soft natural looks, which is good for the spring and summer or a more subtle eye look.
Brown: I'm not really sure what to say about this colour. It's a warm light brown and it's full of glitter. Don't try to use this in your crease like the diagram suggests, unless you're purposely looking to make a trail of glitter chunks in your crease.
White: Oh, what good can I say about this one? Nothing. Nothing is good about this shadow. In fact, I actually hate this shadow! It looks pretty in the pan right? Don't let it fool you! When swatched, it's flaky and goes all over the place. When applied to the eye, it is LITERALLY GLITTER. The white colour completely disappears! You're literally applying glitter chunks on your eye! At least the brown had some brown colour with it. This one doesn't have any colour pay off what so ever. You're better off using a glitter liner because this is the powder form of that, except it's hard to apply and control where it falls. Just don't even touch this colour, okay?
As you can see
(or not see) from my swatches, these colours barely show up. And this is even after I swatch with all my might. I'm surprised the white swatched out here, because it looks totally different when you apply it to the eye. Then again, I packed the shadow on for these swatches.
Rating: ★☆☆☆☆ 1/5
I wanted to love this product because it was a gift from
Charming, but it just blows ;-; The only okay shadow would be the orange, but that's a 1/4. The packaging is cute so I just let it sit out on my table for decoration, but I think that's all it will ever be for me. Occasionally, I'll reach for the orange and maybe pink, but that's about all this could do for me. Oh, and I usually use tape to get rid of all the glitter it produces on my eyes and face when I use it. That kind of tones it down...
I'm starting to think the sales lady lied because why would anyone buy this product, let alone it being the best selling during the summer time? Maybe I'm just not the target audience. I can't rule out that perhaps people over in Asia really enjoy shadows like this. Personally, this does not do anything for me. Sorry, Etude House. This is a bad product for me.

Etude House Golden Ratio Contour Maker Review
I'm finally tackling the last couple of items off my Korea Haul list. I've only got a couple more items and then I can move on to the rest of the reviews I should be doing hehe. I'm gonna start writing them as drafts and just publish them each one by one as time goes by. Since school is so busy, I hardly have time to blog anymore so hopefully this will bring some consistency to my updates.
Today I'll be reviewing
Etude House's Golden Radio Contour Maker! I don't know why it took me so long to pump this one out because this was one of the items that I was most excited for! I love contouring my face, so when I saw this, I knew I had to get it.
It's about the size on my palm, so it's good for traveling because you get a blush, highlighter, and bronzer all in one. On the back, there's a diagram showing you what shade goes where.
Can we just talk about the name for a second? As an art student, hearing "golden ratio" is just so fulfilling to me. If you're unfamiliar with the golden ratio, it's basically a mathematical ratio that is used to produce "aesthetically pleasing" proportions. You can see examples of this ratio in buildings and paintings, but also in nature such as your finger (the three joints in your finger and the length between each point is roughly the golden ratio), on seashells, and even in flowers. Now you've learned something new :)
The name is so fitting for this contour pack because why do people contour? To bring out their features and slim down their faces to create a more pleasing structure. Or at least, that's why I do it!
Like I said, inside comes with a bronzer, highlighter, and blush. There's also a soft mini brush that comes with it which actually comes in handy. I usually don't use applicators/brushes that come with products because they tend to be crappy but this brush's bristles are very soft and small enough to get right between your nose to help contour. It's really handy for when you're traveling or on the go and can't bring a full-sized brush with you.
This is how they look when swatched. From left to right, bronzer, blush, highlighter. I really like the bronzer because it's not as orange-y as a lot of bronzers I've come across. It's medium pigmented so you can make subtle contours on your nose and cheeks, but you can also build on the colour if you need a more intense contour.
The blush is a satiny light peachy pink with a sheen to it. I don't really use this blush much because I have one in a similar colour, sans sheen, which I enjoy better. When applied on the face, I noticed it isn't as pigmented as I'd hoped, so I hardly ever use it.
The highlighter is my favourite part. There's such a large portion of it, compared to the blush and the bronzer which makes me very happy. It's a pinky-white shimmery highlighter and really makes your features pop when you apply it to your face. My favourite way to use this is down the bridge of my nose. It instantly makes my nose look taller and slimmer. I absolutely love this highlighter. I'd say this is a powder version of Benefit's High Beam, except High Beam leans more towards the pinker side, while this is more of a white with a pink undertone.
(High Beam is my favourite western brand highlighters but it's just so expensive!)
Let's talk about the packaging. I love this packaging, just like every other Etude House products. They seem to always have the best and cutest packaging out there. It's a plastic compact with a mirror on the inside, but if I had to critique it a little bit, I'd say it's a little too bulky. It could be slimmed down just a tiny bit as it's about an inch thick. Also in the the front where it snaps shut, there's no indent for your finger to help pry it open, so you kind of just have to grip it tight and pull it open. I don't have too much trouble opening this product, but for user-friendliness, it would help. Again, it's not too big of a deal though.
Rating: ★★★★☆ 4/5
I love 2/3 of the product in here, and the one blush is just whatever; I don't really care for it but it's nice to have around if I ever needed a blush. I've recently bought a new contour colour so instead, I've been using that. But prior to buying that, I've been using this bronzer as my contour a lot and I've made quite an indent in it. As for the highlighter, well, I've been using the crap out of it and I love it a lot. It's my go-to highlighter for sure. If I ever run out, I'd be super sad. Does Etude House make just the highlighter on it's own? If so, I'm definitely going to try and get one as a backup, because the highlighter is the most important part of this product for me, hehe.
Got this item? Tried it? Let me know what you think of it and if you like it just as much as me! Leave a comment on my tagboard~

Etude House Real Art Cleansing Oil (Moisture)
Okay hi~
I'm still trying to tackle things off my Korean Haul list so today I'm gonna do a
quick review on
Etude House's Real Art Cleansing Oil in Moisture.
I'm not sure if there's a box that comes with it because a lot of the packaging had to be removed to be able to fit in the suitcase, but this is how mine came. The bottle is quite big and you get 200 ml/6.76 fl oz. of product. There's of course a pump that comes with it.
How I use it: with my makeup full face dry, I pump two pumps of the oil into my hand and massage on my face all over, even my eyes. Then I wet my finger tips a little and massage my face again. This makes the oil become milky and I think this is when it really starts to "melt"/remove the makeup off your face. Then I rinse with warm water and pat dry.
This takes off all my face makeup really well. On days that I do not use waterproof mascara, this takes off all my eye makeup too without the need of a cotton pad. It has some difficulty removing waterproof mascara, and I find that after I rinse, I'll have raccoon eyes which I simply fix by going over with a cotton pad and a little bit of eye makeup remover. Other than that, this oil practically takes off everything at one go. Most people like to follow up with a foam cleanser as well.
Rating: ★★★★☆ 4/5
I really do like this cleansing oil. It doesn't break me out and it's like a one stop shop of taking off all my makeup at one go when I'm too lazy to bust out the cotton pads and what not. It's really gentle and doesn't sting your eyes if you do get some in there
(although it's best that you avoid getting it in your eye in the first place). I'd repurchase it if only Etude House items weren't so hard to get a hold of here in Canada.

Etude House Etoinette Crystal Shine Lip Lipstick (PPK001 & PPK003)
Hello!
I've been slacking, I know... But slowly, I'm tackling each review off my list. There's still a lot to go, so I guess that's good news for you all? Today, I'm gonna be reviewing another product from Etude House's Etoinette collection. I have two lipsticks, one of them was given to me by Charming^^
So this is how the packaging looks like. It's really cute and Princess-y like everything else in this line. I especially love the gold detailing in the front. I've always found that Etude House's packaging is the best. Everything is so cute!
This is PPK001. It's the lightest shade in the line, I believe. In the bullet, the colour looks like a medium pink, but when applied, it's actually like a baby pink. On the lips, it looks very similar to Revlon's Lip Butter in Cotton Candy, but without as much blue tint to it. This is a warmer baby pink.
This is PPK003. It's a deeper pink, and the colour looks more true to the one you see in the bullet. On the lips, I find this is similar to a "my lips but bettter" kind of colour. It gives me a natural flush of pink on my lips that's pretty close to my natural lip colour. Then again, my lips tend to have a more saturated pink tint to it compared to others.
The texture of these lipsticks is definitely really buttery, especially PPK001. They're really moisturizing and gives a shiny finish on the lips. I'd say no lipgloss is required because it's already really glossy on its own. With that being said, they do tent to settle in the cracks of your lips, PPK001 more so than PPK003. I find the lighter the colour, the more noticeable it is in the cracks. I have trouble with my lips because they tent to get chapped and peel very very easily so it's hard for me to wear the lighter colour. However, I really enjoying the deeper one as it's more workable on my lips. There are little flex of glitter in the bullet, but it's hardly noticeable when applied on your lips.
As for staying power, I wouldn't say these last a really long time. I don't really expect them to because of their texture. Matte lipsticks tend to last longer than more shiny ones. I think after about 2-3 hours, they'll wear off. They definitely won't last through a meal.
Rating: ★★★☆☆ 3/5
Overall, I think these lipsticks are cute and fun to wear but they aren't the most long lasting. So if you already reapply throughout the day, I'm sure you'll go through a single lipstick really quickly. Also, it's hard for me to make them look nice on my lips due to the settling in cracks. But if you have perfectly smooth lips, maybe after exfoliation, it'll work perfectly for you.

Charming's back!
Hello there!
I'm really happy because it's almost been a week since Charming has been back, which means lots and lots of adventures! Here's to no more bumming around in bed all day. Okay, maybe just not as often... Hopefully.
We went out to eat a couple of times and I watched him play pool with his friend :) It has been a while since we'd done that. Expect a bunch of food pictures for many days ago. Also, since Instagram has video now, I've been having quite a bit of fun with that, so go check out my Instagram^^ And follow me if you haven't already. I'm always happy to see new followers! @hyokii.
HERE'S PICTURES OF FOOD BECAUSE YES!
Also, if you crave Japanese curry like I do, go to Ajisen Ramen! It's one of my favourite places. Their ramen is to die for and I've only recently tried their curry which I wish I had tried it earlier because it's so darn good! Thinking about it makes me crave it more and more.
Anyway, so Charming bought me some stuff and I'm super duper happy because he went to Etude House dlskgjdfskjgfd!! So here's two more items to add to my up coming list :)
It's a pouch for your phone! Paul Frank<3
I finally get a new pair of circle lenses. I love wearing circle lenses more than regular contacts, and I wish they weren't as bad for your eyes :( I can't wear them for many hours, as shouldn't you.
Jjang! He got me an eyeshadow palette and a lipstick from Etude House. I don't think you understand the love I have for Korean cosmetics. This is so perfect<3
Eye of the day using some tokidoki eyeshadows~ Trying to make a dent in some of my colours since I seem to always stick with neutrals. Does anyone else have that problem?
Also if you have the chance to catch the semi annual sale at Bath&Body Works, get their candles! Some of the scents are to die for and they restocked on my favourite London scent!!! I got a tiny little espresso bar scented candle for only $2.
Anyway, that's about it. These days have been nothing but food and playing pool. Hopefully we get to go to more places and have adventures. I want to go to the zoo and have a picnic and dkjhgjkdfhgkfd ^^

Etude House Miss Tangerine Cream Choux Blusher Review
As promised, here's a quick review on Etude House's Miss Tangerine Cream Choux Blusher. Let me just say that when this line came out back in 2011, I was sooooooo super excited and I wanted absolutely everything! But, since I live in Canada, we don't have an Etude House location here so getting my hands on these products proved to be a challenge. My aunt managed to get me this cream blush and I'm so happy hehehe ^^
I have #2 Miss Peach
(but I actually really wanted Miss Tangerine! Oh well :) I want to start off by saying that this is my first ever cream blush and it really has given me a good first impressions on cream blush in general. I think I'll try to find more in the future!
The colour is more of an orange-peach, rather than a pink-peach. The texture feels almost like a thick mousse and blends really well with your fingers or a brush.
(I use the Real Techniques contour brush for this blush and it works wonders paired together). After blended, it has a matte texture on the face. You can either leave it be, or layer a powder blush on top to make it last longer. I find this blush lasts pretty long on my face. After being out for 3 hours, I came home and it's still on my face. This blush is perfect for a natural look because the colour is quite subtle and it would look very nice on pale skin. People with a more tan complexion might have trouble seeing this colour on their face though.
Rating: ★★★★☆ 4/5
This blush is really good and I would highly recommend it. Plus, the packaging is super cute, isn't it? The only thing I wish was that it was a little more pigmented because my skin isn't super pale like those Korean girls </3 However, I heard Miss Tangerine is super duper pigmented, so I'd suggest to try that out if you're daring! Now I wish I could get my hands on the rest of the line T^T
