Lush The Kiss Lip Scrub Review
Tuesday, 26 January 2016 | 0 comments
Hey there cutie,

Lush is one of those stores that I go to when I want to treat myself and last year, I bought myself a lip scrub for my birthday!

I've heard wonderful things about Lush like how they use natural ingredients and most, if not all of their products, are vegan.  Their bath bombs are really great but I haven't really ventured off to any of their other products.

A little background information; I have extremely dry, flaky and chapped lips.  I use medicated lip balms throughout the day and even the skin around the outside of my lips flake!  I would usually scrub my lips in the shower under running water when it has had time to soak in warm water.  Not anymore!

So this lip scrub is made up of sugar, sea salt, and a bunch of organic oils that help moisturized your lips.  The best part is that you can totally eat it!  Licking it off my lips and fingers is my favourite part.  I just take a pea sized amount on my finger and scrub my lips all over, even outside of my lips to get all the dead skin.  This stuff lasts for a while!

This was their Valentines Day special lip scrub that has a "sweet mandarin flavor".  I don't taste mandarin but I really can't point out what I'm actually tasting expect sweet, sweet and more sweet.  There's sprinkles in there, isn't that so fun?

The scrub totally changed my life.  Never has my lips been so smooth that actually lasts throughout the day!  Of course my lips require a light scrub every day but for normal people, I'd say a scrub twice a week would be fine.  This is perfect for prepping your lips before applying lipstick.

After using it for about a mouth, I noticed that my lips have healed a lot more than it ever has in the past.  My lip balms have been absorbing a lot better so the medication is really healing them well and I'm experiencing less and less flaking lately.  I'm hoping they will heal completely so I will no longer suffer from extreme chapped lips.

Rating: ★★★★★  5/5

I absolutely love this product!  I will be repurchasing this after I'm done this jar even if this particular flavour is not available anymore.  I really urge you to go try this lip scrub if you're like me and have super chapped lips.

April Favourites 2015
Monday, 4 May 2015 | 0 comments

I'm back with another monthly favourite (even though I don't do every single month...)!  A lot of these products have already been mentioned on my blog already because most are recent purchases but I fell in love with them really quickly!

Beauty Blender
This thing is great.  I just did a review on it raving about how the hype is so real.  Honestly if you're into dewy skin, or if you have dry skin, this thing will change your makeup forever.  It's worth the money!

Maybelline Fit Me Hydrate + Smooth Foundation
I know they repackaged this with the same old formula but they also have a matte version now.  Obviously I went for the hydrate version (I think it's called dewy in the States).  This is my first time trying an actual foundation (I've only used Korean BB creams up to this point!) and I really like this one paired with the Beauty Blender!

MAC Viva Glam 2 Lipstick
This has been my go-to nude lipstick ever since I got it, which is what I got it for.  It's one of my monthly favourites because this is the exact colour I had in my head when I was going into the store.

Etude House Pore Ever Primer
I just rediscovered this in my makeup stash and I don't know why I stopped using it.  It creates a nice barrier between my skin and my foundation/bb cream and prevents my skin from looking flaky throughout the day.  There's a big difference when I use it and don't.

Lush Sugar Lip Scrub
This thing literally saved my lips and I did a whole review on it.  The oils they add into the scrub really makes a difference, leaving my lips smooth and hydrated.  Of course, it's necessary to still follow up with a good lip balm.  I love that you can literally lick it off your lips and eat it!

What are some of your favourite products? I'm always looking for some holy grail items!

Hello, Aquarius season
Wednesday, 11 February 2015 | 0 comments
It's been such a while since I last did a life update post.  I think the last one was back in December of last year.  I've just been keeping busy, so let's get into it!

Bath and Body Works had their semi annual sale right at the beginning of the year and I took advantage of that!  I picked up two body washes and a pair of their fox slippers.  I'm not really a big slipper wearer but I've had these on my feet since I've gotten them and they keep my feet so warm!  Did I mention they're super soft too?

This year's Sephora birthday gift is two mini NARS lip pencils.  I must admit, I loveeeeee the colours they chose, especially the pink nude; I've been looking all over for a colour like this!  The down side is that it doesn't look like these are sharpenable so whatever product you see is all you get.  But hey, it's free so you can't complain.

Here's something silly that I purchased.  Alice in Wonderland is one of my favourite characters and I was super thrilled to have finally found these books!  I know there are plenty of versions but I was specifically looking for this version.  The illustrations are just so cute!  It's weird, I haven't actually read through the entire story so I'm going to bring these along with me on the bus to keep me busy.

I recently saw Mike again and he put in a new toner!  We added a little purple in and it came out really nice.  It was supposed to fade out in about two weeks but it's actually still lingering on!  I'm not sure how I feel about that exactly because I do really like my blonde, I hope it comes back.

My birthday was in January and my friend gifted me MAC's Cyber!  I've been eye this baby for the longest time and constantly finding dupes but nothing tops the real deal.  Cyber is definitely not everyone's colour, but it's just so fun to wear!  It makes me feel vampy and bad ass.  If you're looking to step out of your comfort zone, give it a shot.

I also gave myself a little birthday shopping spree and purchased a buttload of stuff at one go.  As you can see, mango is one of my favourite fruits and scents.  My favourites of out of bunch are definitely The Body Shop sugar body scrub, body butter, and Lush's The Kiss lipscrub.

To celebrate, my girls and I headed to karaoke at my favourite spot and sang our hearts out.  It's really refreshing to hang out with your friends and have a silly night out once in a while since it's almost rare for us to get together like this now.

I got new boots!  After my last pair pretty much broke down on me after a good year of wear and tear, I managed to hunt down this hair from JustFab.  Spoiler alert: I am NOT fond of the fact you pretty much get charged $40 each month if you don't skip within the first 5 days.  I snagged this pair for $18 after tax and shipping and canceled my membership.

The smallest size was 5.5 which wasn't too big of an issue for me; I'm usually a size 5.  After tightening the laces, they fit my narrow feet perfectly.  The heel is thick and not too high making it super comfortable to walk it.  I can barely tell there's a heel but they give a nice height boost.  The material is pretty cheap, so I'm glad I didn't have to pay a full $40 for these but for around $18, they're pretty worth it.  I'm excited for the snow to melt away so I can bust these babies out.

This week, I made two purchases that I'm so excited about.  These two have been raved about on Youtube and for good reason!  I'll definitely be doing a review soon.

Anyway, Valentines day is coming soon.  I'm really excited to be spending it with my boyfriend although we don't have anything special planned yet.  Also, Jin is back in Toronto and we're going to hang out next Tuesdays!  I AM SO EXCITED TO SEE HER YOU HAVE NO IDEA!!!!  I think it's been a good 4-5 years since I last saw her and I'm just dying to hang out with her again.

And of course, here's a bunch of other nonsense.

Happy Aquarius season, by the way!  How's your 2015 going so far?  Let me know!
