Skin Food Red Orange Makeup Finish (Matte Type) Review
Tuesday, 4 March 2014 | 0 comments
Hello, cutieeeeees!

This is the last item off my Korea Haul list.  It's been half a year since I got these items and only now am I finally completing it all!  I still have many more reviews to come unrelated to this particular haul, so don't worry.  Reviews will still keep pumping out every so often.  If you check my Up Coming list, you can see all the ones I've reviewed and which are to be expected!  If there are ever any products you specifically want reviewed, just leave a comment in the tagboard and I'll try to get it up as a priority before every other item.

And now, Skin Food's Red Orange Makeup Finish.

I heard a lot of food things about Skin Food's Red Orange line, such as their very famous Red Orange BB Cream.  If anyone has ever tried that, let me know!  I really want to try it :)

This is a finishing/setting spray you use on your face after you've applied your makeup to help set everything and make it last all day.  This is the matte version, which means it'll take all that shine off of your face if you suffer from oily skin.  I have dry skin, but this spray doesn't dry me out!  I would say that people with all skin types can use this.  Just make sure you moisturize your face before applying your makeup.  You should be doing that regardless, anyway!

The product comes in a spray bottle that you have to shake up before using.  I noticed powder-like substance in the bottle which I assume is what makes it matte.  So, shake it up and it'll be good for use.

The back: (word for word, Engrish and all)
Makeup Finish containing orange extracts and sebum control powder to help control excess oil and creat a natural shine.
To Use: After shaking it well before use.  Spray after makeup, it helps the makeup last long.

(That's literally what I just told you but with bad English ahahaha.)

As expected, it smells like oranges!  I love the scent of oranges so this is a plus for me.  As for the spray bottle, I have to comment that I have found some leakage.  Sometimes I'd find it leaking it the cap (I don't always store it standing upwards), so when I go to open it, droplets of liquid goes everywhere.  I think this issue would be solved if I'd just store it properly, but hey, a good spray bottle wouldn't have this issue!

So, does this product actually make your makeup last longer?  I would say it does, but not all day like how most finishing sprays claim.  Then again, they never do claim that it will make it last all day, so maybe I'm being unfair.  Without the spray, my BB cream usually fades around 4-5 hours.  With this spray, it maybe lasts an hour and a half more.  Compared to something like Urban Decay All-Nighter setting spray, I would say it's half of what UD can do.

Do you need this product?  I would say no.  It smells great, but if you're specifically looking to keep your makeup lasting all day and night, go for something like Urban Decay and skip this one.

Rating: ★★☆☆☆  2/5

I like this product for it's exterior packaging and scent, but let's face it.  What's all that fancy stuff if the product doesn't deliver 100%?  The spray bottle gives me a bit of annoyance and the spray doesn't keep my makeup lasting all day, which is what I'm looking for.  It's one of those pampering items that you get if you have extra cash to blow, but who has that kind of money these days anyway?  Not me!  Invest in a setting spray that works and you'll be a happy camper!
