The Wedding!
Wednesday, 23 October 2013 | 0 comments
Over the weekend, my cousin Andrew and his (then) fiancée got married!  They've been planning the wedding for months and months now but the day finally came.  I was really excited for it because Charming became my date last minute :)  My aunt wanted me to bring him so he had to defer his midterm to make it for the wedding.  Everything worked out in the end and I has an amazing time with him.  He met my family and everything.

The wedding was really fun.  I was in charge of setting up an Instagram live feed that was projected onto the wall for everyone to see.  That's probably why my Instagram was filled with wedding pictures that night.  A girl has to keep the feed going, you know?

Anyway, the parts that stood out for me the most would be the first dance, the dragon dance, the speeches and of course, the photo booth.

There were little bottles of bubble blowers on table and during the first dance, all the cousins grabbed them and went up to blow bubbles at the bride and groom while they danced.  It was really fun that we got to get involved and blowing bubbles was really fun and cute.  Being an Asian family, of course there would be a lion dance.  I've never been one to be into those lion dances as I've seen them every year of my life, but these lions were different.  They had LED lights on them and they glowed!  When they got turned on, it was like WOAH.  No one expected that, but that is such an Andrew type thing to have.  The speeches were hilarious because if there's one thing about my family, it's that we're terrible with speeches and anything that has to do with it.  Listening to my cousins talk and ramble while questionably drunk was really funny.  Charming got to see just how silly my family is.  And lastly, the photo booth was really cool.  They had silly props for us to use and take funny pictures with.  There was constantly a huge line up for the booth and I was surprised to see all the adults getting into it.  After seeing Asian adults being all serious and not fun 99.99% of the time, it was refreshing to see them get all silly that night.

Altogether, the night was really fun and I enjoyed seeing all my family members again; some live in the states and they traveled over here for the wedding.  I was glad that Charming got to be part of it.  It's a nice feeling :)

And now back to my projects...

(I ended up deleting all the food pics from the wedding because they were taking up so much of my phone space, so check out my Instagram for those!)

Here's some photo dumps of what occurred during the other half of the week.

(Mini review:  Needed a new face powder and heard lots of Youtubers raving about the Rimmel Stay Matte pressed powder, so I picked it up.  Quite affordable and does a good job setting my makeup.  Not sure if it's just my skin, but it cakes up a little under the eyes when I try to set my under eye concealer.  Sally Hansen Insta-Dri in Cinna-snap.  A nice dark burgundy colour, perfect for fall.  I've used this formula before when it first came out.  It does tend to try out a little and turn quite thick over time in the bottle, but I've had mine for years.  Maybe they've improved the formula.  This one went on great, but careful with red nail polishes because they do tend to stain your fingers if you're not careful.  Dries really quickly, as marketed.  2 coats to achieve colour in the bottle.  Rimmel Apocalips in Big Bang.  Been eying this for a long time but finally caved and got it on sale.  Love the opaque formula but careful of getting it everywhere.  Been given the advice of using a lip liner under it, so I'll need to get one of those soon.  Colour is really rich and doesn't stain the lips so it's easy to take off at night.  Glossy and doesn't dry out lips.)
