Skin Food Bath Salt (Peppermint)

So this is going to be a short review because...  Well, to sum up the entire post now, I wasn't impressed with this product.  It's Skin Food's bath salt in the scent peppermint.

Here's what it looks like.  I used one a few months back and just haven't looked at the second pack for a while.  I'm really new to these bath salt things and this is the first time I've ever used any, so I wasn't sure really what to expect.

Inside, there's little blue crystal-like salts, I guess that's what it is.  On the front and back, it says:

Special food for the skin to eat.  Contains lots of nutritive and energetic ingredients such as fresh plants, fruits and etc. to maintain our bodies healthy and lively.

Full body (foot) bath salt with natural salts from Australia rich in minerals, natural aroma extracted from herbs, and moisturizing vegetable ingredients.

I'm a little more confused after reading those.  Also, it says "full body" but also "foot" in brackets...  So...  Am I only supposed to soak my feet, or can I use it for my entire body?  I wasn't sure, but I just filled up my bath tub, poured them in under the running water and got in.

Here's where it all goes down.  Again, I've never used bath salts before so I'm not quite sure the purpose or what the experience is supposed to be like but I sort of had an expectation in my head and this didn't meet it.

First, the salts took a very long time to dissolve into the water.  I bathe in quite hot water, and since I poured them right under the running water, I thought that would help them dissolve but it didn't.  They all just sank to the bottom of the tub and sat there.  I ended up stepping in some as I got in and it wasn't a pleasant feeling on my foot.  Secondly, the scent is extremely weak.  I could barely smell anything until I got into the water and really put my face close to the water.  It had a mild peppermint scent, but it was completely gone after 5 minutes of being in the water.  Also, I kind of expected some kind of water tinting because the salts were blue, but the water looked clear like nothing has been put in it.  Bummer.  Lastly, I'm not sure what bath salts are supposed to do for you, but it didn't make my skin feel any different.  I've heard that some certain types of bath salts help with muscle pain, and I'm not sure if these were targeted for that purpose but it didn't do anything for my body either.  After the first 5 minutes and the scent disappeared, I literally felt like I was laying in plain water.  I ended up adding some bubble bath just so I could have a decent bath.

I mean, I would've taken more pictures of the product and such but you'd just be looking at plain water, so...

Rating: ★☆☆☆☆ 1/5  And that's being generous.

I decided to give it a one because at least the salts look nice and if you aren't going to use it for a bathe, I'm sure you can find a way to make use of it as decoration, like pouring it into a fancy jar or something.  That's probably what I'm going to do.  The product itself however, really isn't good...  Maybe it's just my lack of experience with bath salts in general, but I'm really not impressed by this.  Are all bath salts this weak?
