Summer time means beach time

Hello, friend.

So this week, Charming took me to the beach!  This is only the second time being at the beach for me, and first time being at that specific beach, and also the first time I've ever been to the beach with my boyfriend.  I was really excited to go and I've been wanting to go all summer, and we finally went.

We went on a perfect weather day, with sunny weather but it wasn't too hot and humid that we would be uncomfortable.  When under the shade, it was nice and cool; I get cold easily so I simply step back out into a sunny patch to get some heat again hehe ^^  We picked a spot right in the middle and set up our umbrella.  I really enjoyed just laying there on the beach and watching other people play and have fun.  We're more of the relaxed type and we had a really good time just having good conversation and enjoying the perfect weather together.

 (My zen garden ^^)

After that, we headed to the mall to kill some time because we both weren't quite that hungry yet.  I ended up going into hot topic and buying a couple of The Lion King items.  I really wanted the tank top too, but it was sold out!  SOLD OUT!!! Can you believe it?!  I was super bummed but decided to get whatever I could that was available anyway.  I ended up getting the hakuna matata necklace, the ear cuff, and simba stud earrings.  They are all so perfect and I have no regrets<3   They were also doing a "buy one get the other 50% off" which I could have completed with the tank top, but since they didn't have it, I saw this glow in the dark nail polish and chose that instead.  It worked out fine because I've always wanted glow in the dark nail polish.

After that, we went to Jack Astor's and we shared a dish since Charming couldn't quite decide what he wanted to get (that's something new!).  We shared this rice-quinoa-sweet potato-shrimp-tomato type dish that was really quite delicious, but admittingly not enough to be shared by two people.  He also let me order an alcoholic drink (which rarely happens) so I chose a cosmo because those are really good.  That was like the cherry on top of an amazing day.  He took me home after that and called it a day.  It was wonderful.

The next time I saw him, we spent some time together at home and then ventured to St. Louis because I've been wanted onion rings for a soooooooo incredibly long time.  He finally gave in, and guess what!  He let me order another drink.  TWO, in fact!  I got another cosmo and tried a mojito for the first time.  It's really really good!  The onion rings were super bombdigity and although I wanted to order some fries as well, I told myself no because he was already spoiling me so much haha ^^

Then, yesterday, we went to Hollywood Cafe for a late dinner.  That place reminds me a lot of my Noona Jin and nostalgia took over when I sat down at the booths.  Oh man, I haven't been there in so long.  Their food is really quite good for the cheap prices they have.  I originally wanted the ox tail in red wine sauce but they didn't have it :(  Good thing I had a backup.  I was debating between the shrimp curry and the ox tail, so when they came back to ask me to change my order, I knew what I wanted.  It look a while, so Charming made me eat some of his mixed meat dish and we ended up being super full by the end of the meal.

We have plans to go to the zoo and have a picnic and go to ikea, and all that lovely stuff so I'll probably come back and make posts about those once we do them.  Summer is almost over and I want to do as much as I can with him :(

An update with my (super slow) progress with my Smashbook:  I made a pocket with card stock that I stuck in one of the pages.  I keep my birthday cards in there.  I felt really crafty making my own pocket from scratch hehe

This was during my process.  I've decorated it since then :P  Maybe I'll do an update photo later but to be honest, I'm too late right now to even attempt that.

Oh, also; my last two entries are quite different from how I usually post.  I kind of like the doing those and I think I'm going to try to do them more often.  Hopefully you guys find them helpful and fun and also visually more appealing, yes?

Anyway, let's end off with some selfies :)
